Class Instructor: Tap & Musical Theatre
Gabriel Ditmars is a dancer, writer, acting instructor and even a budding theatre director; he was raised in the theatre – A thespian at age 9, and a tap dancer by age 13 when he watched some classic tap dance movies and instantly fell in love with the artform! He quickly was also absorbed into the dance world of jazz, contemporary, ballet, etc. which he enjoys as a way to compliment and balance his tap dancing. For the past 7 years he has been dedicated to his craft of tap, always looking to expand his training, step vocabulary, delve into the history and culture of tap dance, try new things and “tap”into his own artistic expression. Gabe began his Tap training at Dance Works Academy (Now Gibsons Dance Centre) and continued to pursue his passion through the years. In the spring of 2020 Gabriel was the honourary recipient of the Grace-Inglis Memorial scholarship for young tap dancers and he also joined the Gibsons Dance Centre faculty(formerly known as DanceWorks Academy) In the summer of 2022, Gabriel graduated from the 2 year ADAPT Teacher Training School program, certified in Tap & Jazz as well as the “iTapOnline Teacher Certificate Program. He is so thrilled to have the opportunity to put all of this knowledge to good use! To inspire and motivate his students!
